Welding in the World - Registered in Science Citation Index

Welding in the World has been the flagship publication of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) since 1963, highlighting the best achievements of the global professional and academic welding fraternity.

The bi-monthly scientific and technical journal features authoritative papers on all aspects of welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, thermal spraying and other allied joining techniques.

These technical and research papers or guidelines are first assessed and then recommended for publication by experts from the IIW’s 25 Working Units, representing the national delegations of the organization’s 54 member countries. Selected authors originate from the four corners of the globe, with Welding in the World providing the ideal forum for regular knowledge exchange.

Further, all papers are now subjected to a rigorous peer review process, involving some 250 eminent figures from the international academic community.

- Research Papers feature the latest innovative developments and procedural advances
(processes, material-related interactions, weldability, testing, simulation …)

- Technical Papers examine the manifold applications of welding in the various industrial sectors, in consideration of both economical and environmental aspects (metallurgy, nuclear engineering, civil engineering, quality assessment …)

- Guidelines provide invaluable information on best practices and other pertinent issues in all areas of welding
(fatigue testing, corrosion, fitness for service, health and safety …)

As of Volume 53 Issue 1/2 (January/February 2009), Welding in the World has been registered in the prestigious Thomson-Reuters Science Citation Index Expanded and Materials Science Citation Index.
