To fulfill standards and to avoid failures and repairs in welding construction key staff in all welding related activities needs to have an appropriate level of knowledge and competence in welding technology and its application.
This can be done by using the International Systems for Education, Training, Qualification and Certification run by IIW which is a unique and comprehensive system, and in use in more than 40 countries.
The reference to this International Education, Training, Qualification and Certification Systems in international standards (ISO 14731, ISO 3834, ISO 17660), is a clear recognition of its value.
The International Education, Training, Qualification and Certification Systems for both Welding personnel and companies is based on the harmonized European Systems for Education, Training, Qualification and Certification of welding personnel and companies, existing since 1992.
In order to administer this system and to develop it, the IIW has established the IAB -International Authorisation Board
, which publishes Guidelines and Rules and develops and manages the Quality Assurance procedures controlling the IIW Systems
In each IAB Member Country
, the IIW Systems are implemented and controlled by the ANB – Authorised National Body and/or ANBCC – Authorised National Body for Companies Certification.
